The purpose of the North Carolina Title I, Part C Education Program for the children of agricultural workers is to mitigate educational barriers that highly mobile students and youth may face. Frequent moves often result in educational disruption and discontinuity. High mobility can also affect children in other ways. They may experience inconsistent or inadequate food, housing and/or healthcare.
Examples of Title I, Part C program services for eligible students include:
- Coordination among schools, community agencies and businesses to optimize access to the services needed
- Collaboration with Local and State Education Agencies across states to improve continuity of education
- Provision of direct academic and humanitarian support services
This program is federally funded through the U. S. Department of Education. For more information, visit the Office of Migrant Education.
